Comm-Tract successfully completed the installation of over 21,000 feet of Fiber Optic and Coaxial cabling to support the DAS cellular system at Polar Park, Worcester’s new state of the art ballpark which is the home of the Worcester Red Sox, a Minor League Baseball team competing at the Triple-A level and an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox which has opened for the 2021 Triple-A season. The DAS system will provide cellular wireless service to the 9500 plus seating capacity for people who attend the Red Sox games there, and also provide cellular coverage for concerts, corporate outings, weddings, and other social events to be held at the park.
Polar Park is located on the northern portion of the former Wyman-Gordon site and is surrounded by Madison Street to the south, the CSX railroad to the north and west, and the terminus at the City of Worcester municipal parking lot on Green Street on the east side. The $157M project was completed with the new DAS system operational on Opening Day May 11th 2021.
