Case Studies

NSTAR contracted Comm-Tract to build the Smart Grid Fiber Optic Network throughout Cape Cod Massachusetts to transport the critical data on which the system is dependent. Other areas of the state are also being upgraded to this technology as well in the NSTAR territories.

A competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), One Communications provides large and small businesses with a robust portfolio of advanced telecommunications solutions.

One Communications contracted Comm-Tract to built a CISCO-based carrier network that had the capability to transport and route various telecommunications solutions for its customers in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and Midwest Regions of the United States.

Veroxity

Veroxity is a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) that serves high-end enterprises with data intensive requirements. They called on Comm-Tract to expand their networking capability to support the communications infrastructure demands of their clients.

Comm-Tract provided fiber optic networking services such as redesigning and implementing the long-haul fiber optic routes, shooting and testing existing fiber optic cable, and troubleshooting.

Taunton Municipal Light Plant, like some other local power utilities is a service provider of FTTH (fiber to the home) network offerings to their customer base. Comm-Tract recently completed the licensing and installation of expanded fiber optic facilities to support TMLP’s territory expansion efforts in neighboring towns.

Sterling Municipal Light Department (SMLD) recently contracted Comm-Tract to help design and engineer the 432 count single mode fiber backbone network that will support interoperability between SMLD, the Boylston Municipal Light Department (BMLD), the West Boylston Municipal Light Department, and SELCO (Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations). This high performance fiber optic network will also provide the core network for the future deployment of FTTH services to businesses and residences in the town of Sterling. Comm-Tract project management personnel also trained SMLD linemen on the proper means and methods of fiber cable installation during this project.
